Housing Case Manager

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
● Maintain Confidentiality in accordance with Alaska Statute 18.66.200
● Implementing the goals, objectives and policies of the victim services housing programs,
Empowering Choice Housing Program voucher referral program, Safe-T housing and the
DV-Rapid Rehousing program.
● Advocate on behalf of individuals enrolled in a victim services housing program to move
into independent housing and to access community support and resources.
● Provide safety planning around independent living.
● Engage in and roll model direct conflict resolution.
● Research, prepare, and facilitate groups around independent living skills.
● Assist individuals enrolled in victim services housing programs to research and search for
housing units, take individuals to look at potential housing units, providing transportation
with agency vehicles to housing unit inspections.
● Follow the documentation and case planning requirements for both programs with clients.
● Act as a point of contact for AHFC with ECHP participants, track a client’s AHFC
deadlines and documentation requirements for continued program enrollment.
● Perform Housing Inspections for the DV-Rapid Rehousing program.
● Engage with landlords to identify potential housing resources.
● Assist program participants to develop housing sustainability and independent living
skills by working with them to reduce barriers.
● Do agency shopping at the Fairbanks Community Food Bank to maintain a limited food
distribution program, putting together food boxes for clients.
● Assist enrolled participants moving into housing with furniture / household item referrals
and putting together household items from IAC donations.
● Other duties as assigned by the Housing Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or closely related field; sufficient job experience may
be used in lieu of education
● One (1) year experience with trauma issues, crisis intervention, advocacy, and group
facilitation
● Knowledge or work experience working with vulnerable population
● Valid Alaska Driver’s License
● Proficient with computers, knowledge of reporting data systems and ability to do data
entry
● Ability to lift at least 40lbs.
● Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills
● Ability to pass background check
Preferred Qualifications
● Three (3) years or more of experience in case management
● Experience working with survivors of Domestic Violance, Sexual Assault or Human
Trafficking
● Knowledge of Indigenous people of Alaska, and the Fairbanks Community

Supervision: Directly responsible to the Housing Coordinator

Hours: 37.5 hours per week and based on needs of the program
may include weekends and evenings
