Victim Services Director

The Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living is looking for a supportive and compassionate person with prior management experience to fill our Victim Services Director position. This person will need to have a calm and patient demeanor with a passion for helping people in order to excel at this position. The job duties include supervising our team of victim advocates to include hiring and training new advocates, holding regular meetings, conducting evaluations and documenting disciplinary actions. You will also be responsible for implementing the goals and objectives of the emergency services program to include overseeing scheduling, substituting for program staff, overseeing case conferencing and the maintenance of service records.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a closely related field; prior work experience may be used in lieu of the degree. One year demonstrated experience in supervision (formal or informal) or program management. Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault. Commitment to agency's mission and goals. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles. Applicant must have a valid Alaska’s driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.

Maintenance Technician

Do you enjoy doing maintenance and want to give back to your community? If so, the Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living is looking for a Maintenance Technician to provide minor repairs to include plumbing, heating, electrical, and carpentry. This position will also be responsible for maintaining a schedule of required maintenance and arrange as needed, rehabilitating units in buildings as needed, and assisting with quarterly maintenance and safety inspections. The Maintenance Technician will maintain the exterior around IAC's property, maintain the garage and work areas, assist in the organization of donations, and the disposal of trash, and other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator.

Minimum qualifications include: A demonstrated understanding of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and heating. 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. A commitment to the agency’s mission and goals. The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles and the ability to lift 50 lbs. A valid Alaska Driver’s License. Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills.

FT Crisis Intervention Specialist

Careline is currently looking for a Full Time Crisis Intervention Specialist. In this position you will have the ability to implement policies, protocols and services designed to assist individuals who are thinking of or planning to commit suicide, are impacted by someone with suicidal behavior, or who are experiencing crisis that without assistance, may turn into suicidal behavior. Services are provided via phone call or text messaging. The Crisis Intervention Specialist will maintain client confidentiality except in cases where client needs must be communicated to appropriate staff and emergency personnel, provide support, information and referral for non-crisis calls, maintain accurate records of lethality assessments and client information, and other duties as assigned by the Careline Director.

Minimum qualifications include the ability to work nights, an Associates Degree in Social Work or a closely related field; prior work or life experience may be used in lieu of the degree, excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills, a commitment to agency's mission and goals, an ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles, an ability to work independently, an ability to pass background check, proficient with computers, and an ability to do data entry.

Part-Time Advocate

Do you have a passion for helping people? Do you want to make a difference in your community?

IAC is looking for a Part Time/Relief Advocate to join our team. In this position you will have the opportunity to provide crisis intervention, systems advocacy and support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Minimum Qualifications include an Associates degree in Human Services or closely related field; sufficient job, school or life experience may be used in lieu of the education. The ideal candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills and the ability to be flexible in a fast paced teamwork environment. An advocate will have experience handling sensitive issues in a mature and confidential manner with integrity and compassion, the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles, a commitment to the agency’s mission and goals and the ability to pass a background check. Candidate must also be able to work nights and weekends.

Fairbanks - Staff Attorney 

The Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living is seeking a family law Attorney for our growing Legal Services Program. This position will be full time with a flexible, family-friendly schedule.

The IACNVL Legal Services Program strives to provide a holistic approach to serving our family law clients who are seeking protective orders, divorce, and child custody and support. We value our staff and promote self-care and healthy boundaries between home and work life.

Minimum qualifications include: Good standing in the Alaska Bar; an interest in helping low-income men and women who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault; and a demonstrated commitment to adherence to the Alaska Civil Rules and Rules of Professional Conduct.
