Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Responsibilities

Essential Functions
- Provide minor repairs to plumbing, heating, electrical, and carpentry for all IAC owned or operated property
- Maintain a schedule of required maintenance and arrange as needed in coordination with the Maintenance Coordinator
- Rehabilitate units in buildings as needed and prepare them for new tenants
- Assist with quarterly maintenance and safety inspections
- Maintain exterior around the IAC properties including trash pick-up, lawn mowing, hedge clipping, and tree trimming
- Maintain garage/work areas in a clean working order
- Provide expediting services
- Assist in the disposal of donations and trash as needed
- Coordinate and/or provide snow removal off of sidewalks and handicap ramps for all IAC buildings following budgetary constraints
- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications
- A demonstrated understanding of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and heating
- Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
- Commitment to agency’s mission and goals
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License
- Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills
- Ability to pass background check
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years experience in a maintenance position
- Experience working in a residential setting
- Certification in a maintenance field
Supervision: Directly responsible to the Maintenance Coordinator
Hours: Full Time, Mon –Friday 10:30 to 6:30 (37.5 hours per week), occasional overtime on evenings, weekends, and on-call
Salary: Range 19 Non-exempt

If so, the Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living is looking for a Maintenance Technician to provide minor repairs to include plumbing, heating, electrical, and carpentry. This position will also be responsible for maintaining a schedule of required maintenance and arrange as needed, rehabilitating units in buildings as needed, and assisting with quarterly maintenance and safety inspections. The Maintenance Technician will maintain the exterior around IAC's property, maintain the garage and work areas, assist in the organization of donations, and the disposal of trash, and other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator.
