MyPlace RRH/Low Barrier Housing Case Manager

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Implementing the goals, objectives and policies of the Myplace Rapid Rehousing Program and IAC housing program.
  • Act as a point of contact for outside agency referrals and attend Coordinated Entry meetings.
  • Provide safety planning around independent living.
  • Engage in and roll model direct conflict resolution.
  • Research, prepare, and facilitate groups around independent living skills.
  • Assist Individuals enrolled in the RRH programs to search for housing units, providing transportation with agency vehicle to housing unit viewings and inspections.
  • Advocate on behalf of individuals to move into independent housing and to access community support and resources.
  • Engage with landlords to identify potential housing resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals and their children living in IAC’s low barrier housing.
  • Assist individuals living in IAC’s low barrier units with housing issues, food security, paying bills and keeping their unit in a manner compliant with basic health and safety codes.
  • Follow all documentation and case planning requirements for IAC housing programs.
  • Assist program participants to develop housing sustainability and independent living skills by working with them to reduce barriers.
  • Do agency shopping at the Fairbanks Community Food Bank to maintain a limited food distribution program, putting together food boxes for clients.
  • Assist enrolled participants with furniture / household item referrals and putting together household items from IAC donations.
  • Become SOAR trained to assist clients.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Housing Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or closely related field; sufficient job experience maybe used in lieu of education
  • One (1) year experience with trauma issues, crisis intervention, advocacy, and group facilitation
  • One (1) year experience in case management
  • Knowledge or work experience working with vulnerable population
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License
  • Proficient with computers, knowledge of reporting data systems and ability to do data entry
  • Ability to lift at least 40lbs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years or more of experience in case management
  • Experience working with marginalized and underserved populations
  • Knowledge of Indigenous peoples of Alaska, and the Fairbanks Community

Supervision: Directly responsible to the Housing Coordinator

Hours: 37.5 hours per week and based on needs of the program may include weekends and evenings

Salary: Range 24, $22.55 -$25.37 Non-exempt
